Charlie Rose and Garrison Keillor

Ok, so my world has just gotten a lot more complicated. Things and people
I knew for certain are unraveling like a badly knitted sweater. Are men really so bad? Or is it just men that have power and notoriety? Women clamor after these things. Tell the truth women, we adore men in power. Why did we stand in line at the local library to read Fifty Shades of Gray? We enjoy being conquered. It’s in our DNA. It’s in their DNA to conquer us. OMG. How are we going to resolve this in a politically correct way? It may never happen. I hope not. Otherwise, we will have a society where we all wear unisex jumpsuits and babies are conceived and grown in Petri dishes and test tubes far and away from the sexual and nasty penis and vagina and uterus. Is there a middle ground? Can we come together as man and woman, respect and love each other enough to keep sex from becoming forbidden? I’m not kidding. If we don’t give sex the high ground it deserves, if we keep denigrating it to abuse and shame, it will become forbidden. So we must at first rise above denial, and admit we crave sex as we need oxygen, but let’s not make it such a naughty thing. Let’s begin to celebrate the desire, the act, the consumation as the life-giving moment it is. Then men and women can begin to understand that the ground they walk on is hollowed ground. There will be tension, sexual tension, but know and respect that is the life-giving tension. That’s the energy that makes babies. How can we work together and make that hallowed ground, not dominating or subversive, but mutual love and respect for the miracle that it truly is?
