Random Ramblings

Continuing on with the weekly featuring of our fabulous family...
Sam is my first-born son. He made me a mother. That wasn't an easy task. I wanted children, but I really had no clue. I was 23 years old and had never changed a diaper. I did very little babysitting as a teen-ager. Sam came along and rocked my world. I read book after book about how to raise a strong-willed child. Now, I think I could have written the book!
Sam started taking things apart and "fixing" them at a young age. In high school he read a how-to book and re-built the engine on his car. His friends brought their electronics to him to trouble-shoot. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard after graduating and continued to fix things, working on radar and other electronics on ships.

He got the "Raise Everyone to  Higher Level" award at his Senior Soccer Team Banquet. The years have gone by and he's done many things. He got a Master's Degree in Theology and then decided he'd rather fix things. No-brainer, huh?! I'd say he's a Renaissance man.
Now, he has his own successful business in Berkeley, CA repairing and selling espresso machines and parts. He's also passionate about social justice and actively volunteers to help those on the fringes of society.
And, he has an awesome wife, Sophia, and is a super father to two beautiful boys.

We're proud of you, Sam!
