Sweet, Simple Things

It seems like it's time for me to sit back and think about some things I'm thankful for. It was a long day at work with too much bad news for people I've grown to care about. Making my sweet, simple list always helps to put things in perspective.

1. Spending a rainy Labor Day with Lenny making apple pies with apples from our very own backyard tree.

2. Watching the horses in the meadow behind our house. I get to enjoy them and don't have to feed, water, or clean up after them! They're beautiful animals that don't hurry or worry.

3. The vegetable mania this time of year is incredible. I love the bounty of the harvest. I have squash baking in the oven, beets steaming on the stove, I cut up fresh tomatoes, and I'm going to bread and fry up some zucchini slices with onion. It just does not get any better than that.

4. Ok, I'll admit it, I have been enjoying "America's Got Talent". Lenny is voting for Prince Poppycock to win the $$$million and go to Vegas but I'm more of a Michael Grimm fan. The top four will be picked tonight! I'll keep you posted.

5. Tutti Frutti Nail Polish by Opi. It keeps my fingernails protected and doesn't show chips and nicks. Ah, the little things....
