I love writing The News from Whispering Pines because it makes me slow down and set my priorities straight. I know what my priorites are, but daily life distracts me quite easily. I am at my best when I listen to my body and follow its innate rhythms that are set just for me. Sunday is the Sabbath. A day of rest. It's an ancient tradition. Why is it that "the world" clamors on and on about Biblical truths that suit their personal agendas but when it comes to closing their stores or news channels on a Sunday to remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy, "scripture" is forgotten? Anyway, my purpose it not to rant and rave, so I'll stop right here and get back to my original plan:
The News from Whispering Pines
This past Saturday night saw many friends and neighbors descend upon the Spring Creek Ranch at Norwich for the 4th Annual Barn Dance. It was a rip-roaring good time with Melissa Spelchen again providing the music for the occasion. She played her guitar and sang her heart out as dancers filled the saw-dust covered barn floor and two-stepped and swang their partners into the wee hours of the morning.
(Our esteemed photographer apologizes profusely that she forgot to put the memory stick in her camera and all of her focusing and snapping was to no avail. My dear readers will have to take this editor's word for it that a good time was had by all.)
