Sweet, Simple Things

This week I learned that a small band of neighbors joined together can make a difference. Our neighborhood organized, stood together and petitioned city hall in opposition of a developer who wanted to jam 12 homes on 4 acres of swamp land. Fortunately, the commissioners had common sense and voted in our favor. Cause for celebration! With that said, it seems appropriate to also celebrate my list of sweet, simple things for this week-end.

Spent Saturday at the Host Fest Scandinavian Festival. Among the many vendors selling various items, I chose a silver Nordic Tribal bracelet handcrafted by Askjel and Birte Urweg of Cornvallis, Montana.

2. Enjoyed a bite of an apple picked off our tree. I was unable to resist the temptation. :)

3. Visited with a neighbor. Who just happened to stop by on a horse.

4. Basked in 80 degree temps at the beginning of October.
5. Not related, but I like this photo I took of Lenny last week-end and wanted to share it with my dear readers.

It's easy to find sweet, simple things in the fall; such a bountiful, beautiful season of the year.
