4th of July at Whispering Pines

For me, the American Flag stands for the right to disagree. It stands for the opportunity we have in this country to speak our opinion no matter how unpopular it may be. The current situation in Iran is just one example on the globe where it's not OK for the people to say what they think. I don't agree with many of the voices I hear in America today. Many of them I do agree with. On this 4th of July I'm celebrating the right of every U.S. citizen to express an opinion without fear.

Want to hear my opinion?!

  1. I agree with you. Because I am of an older generation I remember the great patriotism we felt on Memorial Day and/or the 4th of July. Going to picnics in the park, etc., etc. Fireworks. I recall one year when Bill and I were in our motorhome on the farm and we had fireworks, and Bill maneuvered the M/H around as he was concerned if any of the sparks would hit the motorhome. Now, here in CA we are very limited where we can watch fireworks, and it is, of course, not the same at all. We have gone to those at the Rose Bowl, and they're fantastic), but I remember the fun of cap guns, sparklers, etc, even though they probably weren't too smart.
