I'm finding as I ponder over ideas for this weekly column I'm feeling child-like in the delight and wonder I experience in the seemingly ordinary. I'm becoming more aware. My list for this week:
1. The sound of cows mooing in the barnyard next door.
2. Watching Missy (the cat) crouch and jump while chasing flying insects in the back yard.
3. The pretty colors and delicacy of the flowers I planted on Saturday. I feel like their mother as I water and feed them and protect them from May nights in North Dakota that still go below freezing!
4. A nurse friend coming back to work after 3 weeks off due to cracking her fibula while roller-blading.
5. A cup of hot tea and a chocolate after a long day. (Won't you join me?)
Wonderful! I too feel like a Mom to my garden.
