The News from Whispering Pines

It is my sad duty this week to chronicle the death of Mr. David Bacon, longtime neighbor and friend of the Andrew Loftesnes family. His body was laid to rest at the Granville Cemetery on May 18, 2009 with legions of family and friends in attendance. Funeral rites were said by the Reverend Frank Picard at Hope Congregational Church. Mrs. Linda Smette and Mrs. Judy Bacon provided organ accompaniment to several congregational hymns, those being, "On Eagles Wings" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer". Mrs. Janis Allen sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Until Then". In his funeral message, the Reverend Pickard comforted all with words of hope and peace. Following the burial a light lunch was served in the basement of the Congregational Church by the Ladies Aid. Mrs. Pam Brewer attended the service along with Mrs. Lucille Loftesnes and Mr. Darrel Loftesnes.
