The other night Lenny and I got to talking about death. He had read an obit in the Grand Forks Herald about a man that died who apparently was near his age. It got him thinking about how his obituary would read. He seemed worried that there wasn't enough, that he hadn't done enough or been successful enough to have an adequate obituary. I told him I disagreed. I said I believe our lives are not about what we do, or who we are, but about how we loved. And of course that love is faulty. It's never enough. That's the point.
It was then that I got a scrap of paper and wrote my obituary.
Pamela Jo Loftesnes Kanenwisher Brewer
Born February 14, 1956 Died ----
She lived and she loved, imperfectly.
That's all I want it to say. Those who know me can fill in the lines.
