Sunday Summary

Well, I do believe spring has come to these parts. Actually we didn't even have a decent winter. I feel cheated-- I didn't get a chance to complain enough and feel morally superior to those wimpy people who live in warmer climates! It's still possible to get a killer snowstorm--one can always hope-don't want to get soft and spoiled, dontcha know.

This week I'm featuring my younger stepson, Nathan. He goes by Nate to everyone but his Dad and I. He's Nathan to us.
I didn't know him as a child, but his dad tells me he liked to play sports, anything with a ball. He always had many friends. He was the playground protector. His Dad says that if anyone was being bullied you could count on Nathan to put a stop to it. These qualities carried on to his adult life. He joined the Army after high school and was in Ranger training until injuring an ankle while jumping out of an airplane ended it for him. He was very disappointed as it had been a dream of his to be an Army Ranger.
After his discharge from the service he received an Associate's  Degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to be a police officer in Minot, ND and now is a Cass County Sheriff's Deputy in Fargo. He and his brother, Shane, are very close. (I couldn't find a photo of Nathan without Shane!) Nathan is single with no children, but he is a super uncle to Shane and Lisa's children, Gage and Sadie. I feel sorry for anyone who tries to mess with those children!

We're so proud of you, Nathan!
