Sunday Sew and Sew
Several weeks ago I started putting together a new quilt. I've spent pleasant hours cutting squares and rectangles and sewing them together. Today I began the work of hand-quilting. It's my favorite part. It'll probably take me 6 months or more to finish, but the slow, steady work of my fingers with needle and thread making tiny stitches in the fabric takes me to my happy place. My mind rests and I feel relaxed and at peace. It's like productive meditating. (When Lutheran meditate they must be productive as well as peaceful!)
I also mended my winter jacket which was unraveling at the pocket seams.
