Sweet, Simple Things

It's hump day. Time for another installment of "Sweet, Simple Things". It should be simple to come up with a list of simple things, but alas, that's not always the case. The big difficult things scream for attention. Somehow I managed to quiet those big things for a few moments and come up with a few sweet, simple things:

1. Putting make-up on in the morning before work. It makes me feel so feminine and
girly. I love the colorful pots and tubes and compacts and the way they can help transform my face from tired and blotchy to fresh and pretty. (at least for awhile!)

2. The smell of french fries. I love french fries. It's almost impossible for me to drive past a McDonald's Drive-In if I'm hungry.

3. Sleeping with the bedroom window open. The cool breeze blows in, the train whistles sound in the distance, and the October wind causes a flutter in the few remaining leaves on the trees. It's late in the season for open windows, consequently I'm enjoying each night as the last.

4. Creamed tuna on toast. Seriously, does it get any better than that?!

5. Bringing beloved sweaters out of storage to see me through another winter.

Life is Good. (I know that's become a tiring cliche', but I'm using it anyway.)
