Saturday started out with a trip to Fargo to help Mrs. Brewer's younger son, David, celebrate his 26th birthday. They met David and his wife, Jenilee, for lunch at Grazie's Italian Restaurant. They had a short time together as Pam and Lenny had made spur of the moment plans to travel to Fargo and the young people had made previous plans. The Brewer's were happy with the time they did have to spend together with the young couple.
As luck would have it, there was a motorcycle show in town! Lenny's son Shane, and grandchildren Gage and Sadie were happy to accompany the Brewer's to see many, many motorcycles, accessories, and such on display.
Mr. and Mrs. Brewer booked a hotel room for the night so the grandchildren could romp and splash in the pool.
Next time Mr. Brewer will pack his swimming trunks! After a few hours in the pool the children were tired and ready for sleep. Gage and Sadie gave hugs and kisses all around and were put to bed. Lenny and Pam gathered up what energy they had left and headed out to a local pub for some light gambling and dancing. (No photos.) They actually stayed out past midnight!
On Sunday following a delicious breakfast buffet at the motel, the Brewer's motored back home to Minot. Sunday Supper was being held at Pam's Aunt Ardy's home as Ardy's daughter, Jennifer was visiting from Texas. In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Brewer, Darrel and Teresa Loftesnes and daughter, Whitney. The group was held in rapt attention as Aunt Ardy told stories of her grandparents who homesteaded in the very home she is now living in on the plains of North Dakota. The group raised a toast to the relatives past and present who have passed through this place.
Whew! Mr. and Mrs. Brewer ended the week-end quite exhausted, but filled with the vitality and zest that comes from being reenergized by time spent with family of all ages.
