Sweet, Simple Things

My mailbox for the past few weeks has been overflowing with catalogs. It's a sure sign the holiday season is approaching. I look through all of them because it's one of my favorite past times. I earmark many pages and am sure I need several fabulous items from each one of the catalogs. Very few things ever actually get ordered, but it's a rich fantasy life for me. In one of the catalogs that arrived today, I found a plaque with this quote by Albert Einstein, "There are two ways to live your life. One, as though nothing is a miracle. The other as though everything is."

With that in mind, here is my Sweet, Simple Things (a.k.a. miracles) list:

1. I feel almost normal today after several days of not feeling well. I discovered I really
do take my usual good health for granted.

2. Dancing with Lenny several weeks ago at my brother's barn dance. (It's a miracle getting him on the dance floor.)

3. Having lunch today in a hospital cafeteria. I know, that sounds strange, but I LOVE hospital cafeteria food. There are just so many choices-I can have fried junk food or an incredibly healthy salad with plenty of fresh vegies. And it's cheap! And the cashier swipes my employee badge and the meal comes right out of my pay check!

4. An apple pie made from our very own tree right here at Whispering Pines.

(No photos of the finished product because it was eaten too fast!)

5. My two sisters, my brother, and myself together this past Saturday at "the home place" where we grew up 40 years ago. (My mother still lives there.)

Life is good! Miracles abound! What are some of your everyday miracles?
