After an incredibly busy week at work as well as at home, I came down with a whopper of a cold. I actually think it may be a sinus infection, what with the pressure head-ache and irritated throat. Once or twice a year my body succombs to this malady. I was supposed to work today, but didn't think it was ethical to expose cancer patients to bugs that are relatively mild for me, but for them could mean a severe illness. After calling the clinic and notifying the charge nurse, I made myself a bowl of oatmeal and parked myself on the couch with the TV remote. On one channel Regis and Kelly were discussing the week-end in their usual perky manner and on another channel, Rachel Ray was making tasty looking pasta dishes. Not being a huge TV fan, I turned it off after an hour or so. Usually I prefer the radio for background music while I read, do needlework, or just putter. But I found my eyes watering when I picked up a book to read or attempted to work on hardanger. What now? I got up to put some clothes in the washer and felt weak and dizzy. I decided my body was speaking to me and I should listen. That's when I took 2 Excedrin, put a box of tissues by the couch, wrapped up in a fleece blanket and let the healing happen!
How's the healing going?
