The News from Whispering Pines

On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Brewer motored out to the Lucille Loftesnes farm for the evening meal. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Loftesnes motored out from Norwich to join them. There were relatives up from distant points, as well. Maureen Lang, her daughter Devan and friend Caren traveled from Colorado Springs to spend a week at Maureen's parental home. Devan and Caren will attend Metigoshe Lutheran Bible Camp while in North Dakota. After a hearty meal of grilled salmon, Hot German Potato Salad, Shrimp Macaronoi Salad, and various condiments and relishes, all went outside to watch the turtle that had made it's way up from the lake and was burrowing in the dirt.(Laying eggs?)

Earlier in the day, Mr. Brewer took the youngsters to Rice Lake to ride on a tube behind his boat. It happened to be a cool, cloudy and rainy day, but the girls were determined to go for a ride. Mrs. Brewer and Mrs. Lang wore jackets and long pants while Devan and Caren were in bikinis on the tube going at full speed behind the boat with Mr. Brewer at the wheel!

Warming up before going for a second round!
