Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Brewer's dinner guest
Sunday evening was Mrs. Lucille Loftesnes, who motored into Minot from Granville. Mr. Brewer made chicken on the barbecue, Mrs. Brewer stirred up potato salad, and Mrs. Loftesnes carried in a green salad with raspberry viniagarette dressing and bread with spinach dip. For dessert, Mrs. Brewer made Root Beer Floats in honor of a co-worker of Mr. Brewer's who passed away this week. He had been out to

Mr. and Mrs. Brewer's home several times for meals. He looked forward to Mrs. Brewer's Root Beer Floats and ate them with a big smile on his face. He was a small man, but wore a cowboy hat so big that Mrs. Brewer always felt akward about where to put it when he so politely took it off after he came in the door. She didn't want it to be crushed or mangled by the dog and cat, but the closet shelf was too small! She usually just set it on the piano bench and watched the pets carefully when they came to investigate. After sniffing for a few moments and deciding it wasn't going to move or jump up they moved on to their dinner dishes and the hat was safe! ---------------
We remember Mr. Don Leger's family in their hour of sorrow.
Root beer floats! Yum. I am going to have to go to town with some soy ice cream and root beer. Is it wrong to have a float before 10am?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not! Life is short--eat dessert first!
