Have I ever told you that I have two brilliant boys? And two fabulous step-sons? And three amazing daughters-in law? And of course you know about our five brilliant, fabulous, and amazing grandchildren. This week I'm going to feature my younger son, David.
He's always surprising me. As a child he was fairly quiet. He didn't mind being alone and entertaining himself with Legos and trains and match box cars. He had a few friends who he was very loyal to. In fact, I believe he is still friends with a few of those boys. He was sensitive and had a soft heart. Once we had to trap a squirrel who was running rampant in our attic, keeping us awake at night. We had to take the varmint out to the country, far away from our home in south Moorhead. David was worried about that squirrel's family who had to stay behind in town!
David was a thinker. He got frustrated with some of his teachers who didn't appreciate when he challenged them. And he was most often right. His Sunday School teachers were more open to his curious mind. One of them told me he was a genius! David is authentic, he doesn't put on a pretense. What you see is what you get. He's grown into a hard-working, creative, fun-loving, visionary young man. He likes to bake cakes! (I told you he's full of surprises!) He's an awesome father to precious Eliza. He works as a software engineer and does web development at Myriad Mobile In Fargo. In 1984 when he was born 'web development' was the strings that were being formed in my light fixtures by spiders!
I'm proud of him!
