Sweet, Simple Things

1. Talking to Parker (and his parents) on FaceTime.  Their California home and our North Dakota home form a cyber living room.  What can be the word for this latest form of communicating besides "amazing"?  

2.  Putting these lights up in the window.  My sister, LuAnn, gave me these 30 years ago.  They've shown in the window for Christmas in 4 different homes in 3 states. They're one of my dearest traditions.

3.  When it's 15 below zero outside and my husband drops me off at work and then brings me a steamy, creamy vanilla latte from Starbucks. 

4.  A thank-you note from a patient.  (With a yummy batch of caramel rolls!) 

5.  Quilts and flannel sheets.
