Dear Diary, Today Lenny and I decided the most exciting thing we could do was stay home. We have been on the run for several weeks. Since we are mostly home bodies, it's been stressful. We've had fun adventures, but were in need of rest and renewal. The weather today was beautiful for early November. We puttered around the yard. I cleaned out flower beds and put perennials to bed for the winter. I'm already anxious to see them again in the spring! Lenny played with Zena and smoked ribs on the charcoal grill. The smells rising up from our back yard were amazing! I worked at cleaning the house and started two weeks worth of laundry. Needless to say, I wore out before the day did. After an hour nap, I took Zena for a short walk. Or should I say, she took me for a walk! I have several books in line to be read and I made it through a few chapters of The Signature of All Things. My quilt sits at my feet and I had good intentions to pick up the needle, but that didn't happen today. Maybe tomorrow. This was a day made up of the joy of little things. Biding time while we wait for the BIG thing, the birth of our grand daughter. She's taking her sweet time, as she's a week and a half late! I respect that. I hope for her that as she grows she's able to live and learn in her time and not be rushed by anything or anyone!

I love that you respect her for taking her own time. Well put.
