The News From Whispering Pines
It was a good Christmas this year. We just got home to Whispering Pines after spending the holiday week-end in Fargo. Our cat met us at the door and was quick to snuggle up in Lenny's lap as soon as he settled in his recliner. I put a pot on the stove and boiled up some spaghetti for supper. I watched the hamburger brown and thought of the gifts I'd received. The best ones were the gifts of time and relationship. In our helter-skelter busy world those are the things that get sacrificed the most. It seems like we steer ourselves onto the fast lane and strive for things that money can buy, but don't satisfy. For me, it's the relationships that satisfy.
