The News From Whispering Pines

Mr. and Mrs. Brewer of Whispering Pines were the host and hostess of this year's Thanksgiving Feast. The guest list included Darrel and Teresa Loftesnes and Wade and Whitney; Brad Bingen, Maureen and Del Lang and Devan, and Nathan Brewer. The dining room table was stretched out with leaves on both ends to accommodate the group and the abundance of food. All of the traditional foods were enjoyed as well as a new twist on sweet potatoes. As Mrs. Brewer loves ginger, she found a recipe for sweet potatoes with ginger and cardamom. It was enjoyed by all. After eating, the group retired with full stomachs to the living room and the basement to watch TV, play games, visit, or nap. Thanks to technology the family was able to talk via video to LuAnn and Steve Aakhus (Mrs. Brewer's sister and brother-in-law) in Singapore.

After a day of fun, feasting, and renewing bonds the group went their separate ways filled with plenty of nourishment, physically and mentally, to sustain them through whatever life brings. Having a family like that is something to be truly thankful for!
