Another rainy day at Wilderness Bay Resort. We ventured into Park Rapids again around noon after a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs. It was hard not to listen to radio coverage of the flood innundating our hometown of Minot. We live far from the river, but it's affecting so many of the folks we care about. We had to evacuate Daisy! She was at a kennel that was near the river. Aimee, one of the nurses I work with, was gracious enough to pick her up and take care of her until we get home. We've decided to cut this sabbath vacation short and return home tomorrow morning. It feels like the right thing to do at this time. It's cold and rainy here, which I actually don't mind, but I would like to have one more s'more and a campfire. Oh well... I made a pot of wild rice soup for supper, which is smelling delicious!
I am sorry you had to cut your vacation short.
ReplyDeleteWere you on Long Lake? I used to go to church camp (Pine Haven) on Long Lake near Park Rapids every year.
Sue-- We were at Little Mantrap Lake, but Long lake was near by. (Lenny mentioned how long it is.) lol Beautiful country, isn't it?
