Sweet, Simple Things

There are so many things that are magnificent during the holiday season; the homes and businesses so merrily lit up, the yummy foods we eat only once a year, special times together with family and friends, beautiful music that stirs the soul. While I love all of the fun and festivity, I'd like to pause for a moment and notice the sweet, simple things that occurred today.

1. A Papa Murphy's pizza to throw in the oven after a busy day at work.

2. Watching Lenny's white truck pull in the driveway at night. He drives many, many miles each day and I'm always grateful when he arrives home safe.

3. A family who had lost their young mother, daughter, and wife this past year to cancer brought a donation in to the clinic to help a current patient going through treatment.

4. The trees at Whispering Pines are so pretty with their boughs laden with snow.

5. Auto-start! Need I say more?! I honestly don't know how I survived for so many years in North Dakota without it. That little click of the button removes in an instant one of the worst parts of winter-getting in a frosty cold car and waiting for it to warm up.

I hope each and every one of my dear readers revels in the magnificence this time of year and also takes a minute to appreciate the sweet, simple things that make up each day.
