An Ordinary Sunday at Whispering Pines

The day started out with breakfast at our favorite Minot restaurant. Not as good as Westside Cafe in Casper, but runs a close second.

On down the road to attend the 11Am service at church. I was (and still am) confused by the Gospel reading from Luke 13. I get it that natural calamities are not caused by God because we're bad. I know I deserve to perish because I'm bad, but I thought that's why He suffered and died--because only He is good and my only hope is His unconditional acceptance of me in my miniscule goodness and my mountain of sin. Sure, I repent, but the next second I'm thinking unkind thoughts about my boss who is sitting a few pews ahead of me. Is there hope for me?

Next on the agenda is a Sunday drive. No deep thinking involved there. Just deep snow. This poor John Deere tractor just wants it to be spring!

Mmm...Peanut Butter Cookies......my favorite.

I went for a walk while waiting for the cookies to cool and listened to Tammy Wynette on my I-Pod singing "Stand By Your Man". I love that tune.

Lenny invited Ralph, a co-worker, to our house for Sunday Supper. Sunday Supper is a sacred feast at Whispering Pines.

So ends an ordinary day. In a way, the ordinary ones are the great ones, aren't they?
