Sweet, Simple Things

Nine Sweet, Simple Things on 9/9/09

1. Enjoying the late summer harvest of fresh vegetables from the garden. Yumm....2. The technology that allows us to see and hear baby Parker in real time, even though he's a thousand miles away.

3. Treating myself to a pedicure. To sit in a "Queen's Chair" and have my feet and lower legs massaged wtih such tenderness and skill was glorious. My lower extremities deserve as much for the job they do of keeping me upright and "on my toes" day after day.

4. Running into my cousin, Colleen, at a car dealership in Minot. She rode with us as we test drove a Jeep. Fun! (We didn't buy the Jeep. It's a hobby of Lenny's to check out as many vehicles as possible!)

5. Watching our cat curled up and sleeping--it's so peaceful and calming.

6. Looking at catalogs and magazines. I've done it since I was a little girl, starting with Sears and Roebuck and Montgomery Ward. One of my best memories is sitting with my grandma going over the pages of the catalog and each picking out our favorite item on the page.

7. Enjoying a quiet morning on a day off from work. No radio, no TV, just the rattle of my brain!

8. Daisy deciding to come home after she ran away from us last night. She was gone for several hours and then, lo and behold, she showed up in the back yard. She came in the house and ate and drank like she'd been gone for a week!

9. The anticipation of meeting Teresa, my sister-in-law, this afternoon at 4:49 as she gets together with friends and family to celebrate her 49th birthday on 9/9/09!

  1. A great list. I have really been into the corn on the cob as of late. I cannot get enough of it.
