Summer--A Feast for the Senses

A few minutes ago, Lenny and I were sitting outside on the deck after supper talking about what a beautiful summer evening it was. That is, temperature about 72 degrees, light breeze, few bugs, and a s'more! (That's what's in my hand and mouth...yummm.) It's the kind of evening a person wants to last forever. Winter here in the north land is so void of nourishment for the senses. It's white and cold and dark and silent. Summer is rich with colors, smells, sounds, and tastes from the earth. I try to be awake and present for the joys and imprint them on my memory for the season to come. (Pictures help!)

  1. While we're suffering here in CA with outrageous heat, you're enjoying that great 70° weather, but then I try to remember that when Dec., Jan., etc. come we'll be basking in 70° weather while you're putting up with shoveling snow, freezing cold, etc. I guess God didn't promise us a rose garden, but I sure wish it would cool off here. My elec. bill is outrageous for the A/C, but I'm also thankful that I can pay it. I've shown your blog to Craig and Keith and they think the pictures are from the farm (Loftesnes) and I tell them, no, that's Pammie's yard. So tell me, am I right. Love you and love your blog. 2. Hi Pam, Bob and grandson were camping at the Lakes outside of the city and we were sharing Smores last night also. Just beautiful here in Nebraska, only one day this July where it has been over 90- so very unusual for this part of the world. Colette

  3. It's always nice in Berkeley. The ocean is our natural air conditioner in the summer :)

I like the new look on your blog.
