I was thinking about posting a few 'winter wonderland' photos today, but I think people have had quite enough of winter. However, the pure white landscape is beautiful. And last week a gigantic golden full moon rose up from the eastern horizon and made the snow sparkle. At least that's how I experienced it from the warm, coziness of our house! I didn't even bother to take a photo as it seems like moon shots never turn out very well.
Speaking of moon shots, I saw the movie, 'Hidden Figures". It's about three black women who have jobs at NASA in the 1960's. The show held my interest on several levels. First of all, of course, were the many barriers the women encountered in a "man's" workplace. But also I was fascinated by the human brains that could get a man in space with very crude, if any, computers. All of their stacks and stacks of figures and documents and notebooks and source materials we now carry in our pocket on a device the size of a deck of cards! Makes me wonder what the future can possibly hold. Anyway, it's a very good movie, in my opinion. Worth the price of admission. And I'm fussy about movies. I like to go by myself so I can leave if I don't like the show.
Funny story: I bought a new hairdryer yesterday and, of course, being the nerd that I am I read the directions. No. 5 was 'Don't use in the bathtub'. Ok, I get that. But No. 6 on the list was 'Don't use while sleeping.' Really? How do you dry your hair while sleeping? Not something I usually do although there are mornings when I feel asleep while getting ready for work. Gives new meaning to bed head!
The temperatures are supposed to be above freezing here this week. We certainly need a reprieve from this brutal winter. My dear readers, may your days be warm and your nights cozy.
And don't use your hairdryer while sleeping :).
