Sunday Summary 12.20.2015

I can't help but love this time of year. Yet, I get overwhelmed by the expectations of perfection. I don't bake much, I am a minimalist when it comes to decorating, I consider Christmas shopping a chore. But I love the music, the lights and the candles, the kind and giving spirit, the family gatherings.  Every body's evil twin takes a break until January! The following things have helped me get in the spirit to celebrate the God of the universe coming into this world as a human. Really pretty amazing!

I have been playing Christmas music on the piano. I miss quite a few notes here and there, but the melody somehow comes through!

Yesterday at the grocery store there was a pleasant surprise at the check-out. These handsome men belted out Christmas tunes to food shoppers.
There are some gifts under our tree for me. I have no idea what they are-I haven't asked Santa for anything! Your guess, my dear readers, is as good as mine.
This is the week that we, as Christians, celebrate God becoming human. Wow! We humans must be pretty special. Our petty, angry, jealous, selfish, lonely, addictive, lazy selves are good enough for God himself to love and live among- now that's something worth celebrating!
