The News from Whispering Pines

On Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Brewer motored to the home of Mrs. Lucille Loftesnes to help Mrs. Brewer's brother, Mr. Darrel Loftesnes, celebrate his birthday. In attendance were Darrel and Teresa Loftesnes, Verl and Colleen Bakken, Ardy Stevens, and Stan Hillerud. Lucille made a fabulous meal of Prime Rib, Buttered New Potatoes, Scalloped Corn, and various other side dishes. After all had indulged and eaten their fill, the German Chocolate birthday cake was brought out. It is Mr. Loftesnes' favorite. He stated he's had German Chocolate Cake on every birthday for the past 50 years! No reason to change it up now.

While enjoying the cake and a cup of java, the group was entertained by going around the table and each one answering the question, "What celebrity, past or present, would you most want to spend a day with?" The answers were varied and insightful, with each answer revealing a window into the presenter's personality. Relatives that have known each other since birth may have learned new things about each other! The evening ended early as all needed to go their separate ways to prepare for the week ahead. Hugs and well wishes were extended all around as promises were given to see each other soon. (The "North Dakota Good-Bye" takes 30 minutes or more at the door!)
