Random Astonishing Facts

In the past few days, I've stumbled upon a few things that amazed me. Things I'd never really thought about. I thought I'd share them with you. You may or may not be amazed as well!

Amazing Fact #1: Jesus was OLD when he began his public ministry. In Palestine at that time 75% of the population died in their mid-thirties. By the age of forty, 90% were dead. I have always had the assumption that Jesus died a young man, that he could've done so much more if he'd had a longer life. I didn't realize he could have been considered a "has been", not an up and coming star. Interesting...lends a new understanding to his life and the things he was about.

Amazing Fact #2: It is possible to carry the accumulated wisdom of western civilization around

with you, weighing less and occupying less space than a single large book. (Clay Jenkinson, Clay's Weekly Blog) As I write this, I'm sitting at Barnes and Noble looking around at the shelves and shelves of books and magazines. Every single one of them and millions more could be stored right in here my 14"x 14" x 1" computer.

...Just a few things that made me think, "WOW, This is causing my mind to get stretch marks!"
