Lighting up Whispering Pines

Several weeks ago Darrel Loftesnes motored to Whispering Pines from Norwich to help his brother-in-law, Lenny Brewer, string Christmas lights across the entrance posts at Whispering Pines.

Since the posts are at least 20 feet in the air, Lenny needed to use the bucket of Darrel's John Deere tractor to reach the high points. Mrs. Brewer was concerned about the safety of Mr. Brewer so high up in the air with no fall protection. Mr. Brewer, safety professional that he is, assured her there was no reason to fret. It was an unusually mild day for mid November in North Dakota. Darrel and Lenny were able to complete their task with time left over for a cold beer while they leaned against the truck and admired their work.

A few weeks later...

Winter has arrived and Mrs. Brewer reports that being greeted by the twinkling lights after a long day at work is a true delight!
